Principles of Marketing - Finals

The marketing concept is the philosophy that firms should analyze the needs of their customers and then make decisions to satisfy those needs, better than the competition. Today most firms have adopted the marketing concept, but this has not always been the case.

In the laboratory setting, we should commit our customer's expectation. People nowadays are practical, they always consider the things that they need and spend money for, and they will ensure that it is worth the money. As an owner of the laboratory, you should consider the place of your laboratory. So that the costumer will satisfy their needs.

Financial Management - Finals


Financial management refers to the efficient and effective management of money (funds) in such a manner as to accomplish the objectives of the organization. It is the specialized function directly associated with the top management.

The following are the objectives of financial management:
  • create wealth for the business;
  • generate a cash;
  • and provide an adequate return on investment bearing in mind the risks that the business is taking and the resources invested.
We should able to meet our objectives in order to have a good flow of our business.

First of all we should know the key elements of budgeting process. Financial Planning, as an owner of the laboratory, we should plan all of the expenses that we are assuming to expense for the laboratory, so that we could meet the needs of the business. Next is, Financial Control, we should observe the laboratory that it is meeting its objectives. Lastly, Financial Decision-Making, the key aspects of this is to related to investment, financing, and dividends.

As an owner of the laboratory, we should consider the salary of your staff. It depends on their position or doings inside the laboratory.

Safety Management - Finals

There is no substitute for safety. Think before you do the things you're wanted to. Everyone should know how is the proper way to take care of our self, not just to your self but to the people that are not aware doing the things that they think it is okay.


Safety Hazards are unsafe working conditions that that can cause injury, illness and death. Hazards, it might help you to limit the actions inside the laboratory. As a staff, inside the laboratory we are at risk of experiencing accidents, that is why it is very important that we should know the different hazards that are posted in the laboratory.                         Personnel management refers to the efficiency of getting the best out of the employees’ skills. Hiring people and then selecting who fits best in a certain area. Performing several tests involving aptitude, intelligence and interests. The functions of personnel management involves manpower planning, recruitment of people as well as training and development.

Quality Assurance - Midterms

                 
                     This is one of the most crucial in managing a laboratory. Today, the quality assurance systems are very meticulous in catching defects of a specific product before it gets to the public for safety reasons. Quality assurance check is a must as it reflects the image of an institution. It also creates the company’s credibility and affects the overall outcome of a given service. Ensuring its quality to satisfy and achieve the best of patient care. 

Communication - Midterms

              Every day in our life, we converse with the people that surround us, for them to understand what we ought to say and for us to express ourselves and vice versa. Necessarily, communication is very much important as I cannot imagine how I will live if there is no one to talk to about how I feel.


                      In this particular topic, I learned that having the ability of good communication skills plays a vital role in a laboratory management. Managers need not only be good communicators but also they should know how to express the given information to everyone because conflicts may occur especially when people of different culture or generations work together in a company or system. 

Leadership - Prelims


Leadership is very important in maintaining the efficiency of the workplace. The leader takes the big part of a pie as he/she is responsible in gathering up his people and come up with a plan. Usually, the leader initiates the action. He/she must also be the source of motivation of his/her workmates or employees, crediting them for a job well done also, providing guidance to his coworkers when in need of help. Coordination is a key to a good leader in a laboratory management as he/she should balance their managerial goals to his personal interests.
